I’ve had the pleasure of traveling through the amazing Scottish highlands over the last 4 days including beautiful Fort William and Edinburgh with my family. During our trip, we came across sunshine, mist, rains..which actually didn’t matter, Scotland felt visually stunning in all weathers, it was super dramatic. Just loved every bit of it, couldn’t get enough.

Train from Edinburgh to Fort William.
An amazing ride through what has to be one of the most stunning landscapes. This is where our camera clicked most of the snaps 🙂
The light and the elements made it look different within seconds so you start snapping them again and again. This train ride was simply unforgettable.
Fort William –
Fort William and Lochaber are the Outdoor Capital of the UK. This town is also the gateway to Glen Nevis, one of the most picturesque of all glens providing some of the most beautiful scenery on the West Coast of Scotland. We stayed 2 nights in this cozy little town.
Jacobite Steam Train-
The main reason for which we decided to go to Fort William has to be to experience the Harry Potter train ride. We loved every minute of it. The lush green mountains made it all the better, the afternoon drink was good on the train. And a surprise chocolate gift box to my wife made it an even more memorable moment. By the way, this day was a special occasion, my dear wife’s 30th birthday.
The place you visit at the end of the train ride is Mallaig, which is very quiet. We were fortunate to have a nice weather in Mallaig. There are nice pubs which most people visit which have wood burners, good food, which also serves good pints of beer too.

A fantastic morning at Edinburgh Castle – Fantastic view from the top and from the city down below, the views alone are worth the price of admission. The history and scenery are simply breath-taking.
We enjoyed exploring the castle and seeing the crown jewels housed there. Very historic and interesting visit indeed.
Walking the Royal Mile – Is a walk through history–from the Castle to the Palace, past where the wall of the city was and turning into little alleyways that open up to lots of surprises!
Lots of whiskey shops, restaurants, and pubs along the way. All set in a lively street full of great architecture and atmosphere. Definitely a fun walk.
